Coming back to Harlow Carr

We keep returning each year to Harlow Carr in Harrogate for our large yearly exhibition. The visitors love seeing the diversity of our work with professional artists and mosaic amateurs sharing the passion they have for the mosaic medium.

The joy of making mosaics and using different types of materials means that there is always plenty to see and marvel at.

The theme for our 2024 exhibition is:

A Menagerie of Mosaics

The term “menagerie” has several meanings “a collection of wild animals that are kept privately or to show to the public” but also “a strange or diverse collection of people or things”. The collective noun “menagerie” elicits images of colourful and rare animals, of intriguing and precious objects, of carefully curated artefacts.

Many of our artists are inspired by nature and animals, who take the central stage in the carefully designed and crafted mosaic pieces which are exhibited.

Come and get your hearts filled with joy by encountering our art!

Don’t miss our exhibition between Saturday 3rd and Sunday 25th February 2024

RHS Garden Harlow Carr, HG3 1QB

Harlow Carr is a place of beauty with stunning gardens and trees. The spacious exhibition space filled with light, is a perfect environment to showcase all our colourful mosaics.

Which one of these mosaics would you want to offer as a gift?

Would you want to have a go at trying to make a mosaic yourself?

Ask our artists present at the exhibition. Many of them are running workshops across the region. Taking part in a workshop will help you understand what it takes to produce a mosaic piece. A lot of patience! Making mosaics is a slow and meditative process. It brings a lot of mindfulness and peace to those enthralled in the process.

Dare to have a go!

Do you want to understand more about the process of making a mosaic?

Just ask the volunteers present at the exhibition. They are all mosaic artists keen to share with you what inspire them and how they go about making a mosaic.

Let yourself be inspired.

Foxes and rabbits are often a favourite, but now we have a camel making its appearance!

The collective noun for a group of camels can be:

A caravan of camels

A flock of camels

A train of camels

A herd of camels

What’s your prefered expression?

At the moment, we only have one camel among our mosaics…we better make more!

Visitors who enjoy our work is treat for us. We spend a lot of time on our own, crafting our pieces, so chatting to our visiting public is always exciting.
